This long weekend is designed to nourish your creativity, restore your energy, and give your writing the space it deserves. Drop into expansive writing time, daily rest & creativity workshops, and the space to reconnect with yourself and your writing.

What to Expect:

Getaways are new offerings from Splendid Mola. They take place around a beautiful central location where we meet for creative gatherings, a few meals, and community. You have expansive writing time and community, as well as an opening and closing circle to bookend the container. What makes these different from retreats is that you book your own accommodations (we provide a list of nearby places), and take care of most of your own food. This keeps the cost lower and lets you be as rustic or as luxe as you’d like! And the main location is always open to you to come and go as you wish.

Our home base for this Rest & Write Getaway is the gorgeous Haeven Retreat Center in Yucca Valley - a 5 acre property of wild nature with plunge tubs, hot tub, yoga studio, sauna, outdoor meditation space, and plenty of places to write or daydream both indoors and out.

  • Full use of the beautiful Haeven retreat center, including sauna, hot tub, plunge pool, meditation patio, and writing spaces

  • A fabulous welcome dinner the first night

  • Snacks. Lots and lots of snacks that you can take back to where you’re staying

  • Coffee, tea, and iced tea available at Haeven

  • Saturday night heavy appetizers, mocktail, cocktail, and desserts

  • Sunday morning breakfast buffet

Our chef for all include meals is the amazing Laura Guidry of The Lettered Shell. Her food is phenomenal: delicious and gorgeous as well as customized for everyone’s diets. I’m so excited to have her nurture our bodies and spirits

  • Accommodations* — we’ll send you the address of Haeven and some ideas for local places ranging from camping to high-end, and also help you connect with others who might want to share a short term rental

  • Meals other than Thursday night dinner, Saturday night appetizers, mocktail, cocktail, and dessert, and Saturday breakfast. We’ll give you a list of local markets and restaurants we like, or bring food from home if you live in So Cal

  • 5:30 pm:  Appetizers & check-In at Haeven 

  • 6:30 pm:  Welcome dinner at Haeven (included)

  • 7:30 pm:  Opening Circle 

  • 9:15 pm:  Opening rest practice

Friday, November 7

  • 8:30 am: Optional breakfast meet-up at Haeven. Bring your food! 

  • 10 am:  Rest & Create Workshop

    OPEN TIME (write, rest, read, hike…whatever suits your spirit!)

  • 5:30 pm: Optional dinner meet-up at Haeven, bring your food! 

  • 7 pm: Short evening Rest Practice

  • 7:45 pm:  Optional tea, cocoa, & conversation at Haeven

Saturday, November 8

OPEN TIME (write, rest, read, hike…whatever suits your spirit!)

  • 4 pm:  Rest & Create Workshop

  • 7 pm:  Closing party! Heavy apps, desserts, mocktail/cocktail provided, plus some surprises

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 9

8 am: Breakfast buffet & closing circle  

We will be done by 10 am. Checkout from the Haeven is 11 am.
